Senators response

This is the response I received from Senator Rick Scott. I am so angry. He thinks we are all doctors and lawyers?? I want to write him back, but could use some help with the writing.

Also, my debt should be forgiven, repayment was in year 2000 ! I’m trying to get a mortgage at age 69. I think I’ll file a lawsuit for them dragging their legs on this ( to put it nicely) His response is below.

In 2022, President Biden announced that the U.S. Department of Education would cancel up to $20,000 in federal student loans for borrowers with household incomes as high as $250,000, despite previously acknowledging he lacked legal authority to unilaterally cancel such debts. Let me be clear, I am strongly opposed to the Biden-Harris administration’s unlawful attempt to spend hundreds of billions of tax dollars, particularly at a time when soaring inflation caused by wasteful government spending is crushing our families. Forcing hardworking American taxpayers who never took out student loans to pay for the debts of lawyers, doctors, and consultants is not just wrong and unfair, it’s unconstitutional.

In your reply, state that students earned their degrees with hard and intense work. They don’t buy them. An earned degree is an asset to the country, necessary for its modern survival and advance. This should be obvious to all, but apparently it’s news to Senator Scott and others of dismissive mindsets.

Great answer - Scott’s office isn’t easy to deal with - if they have a House Rep- try their office.
