Organizing to win College for All in Texas

This action is for everyone who lives in Texas. We want to organize people to put pressure on members of Congress (or people who are running to become members of Congress) to cancel all student debt and make public universities completely free. This can take many forms. Reach out to each other, start talking and making plans. Here is some information that you might find helpful.

Senate
Senators John Cornyn (Republican) and Ted Cruz (Republican) have not yet taken a position on
S. 1947 College for All Act of 2019
. Can you convince them to support it?

The Indivisible Guide provides good advice about how to set up a meeting with your members of congress (or the people currently campaigning for office), how to show up at town halls, how to write letters to the editor, etc. We can do all of that and more. Feel free to get creative and come up with your own plans in addition to these tried and true methods.

I am totally disabled been like this for over fifteen years. Every time I send in paperwork to have my student loans discharged they say they never received them. I am doing it again this year, dont make mo sense. Point blank if a person was disabled in 2015, still disabled in 2019? Just get rid of these loans, quit tarnishing people lives!!!

Hi @Agneslane67 I don’t have much experience with the disability discharge paperwork but if you want to DM me and send me the paperwork that you have I would be happy to help take a look at it with you and figure out how best to file it.

We can send it with tracking and a return receipt to prove that they got it. DM me if you’d like and I would be happy to help.
