Really worried about my defaulted student loans. Tried Borrower’s Defense on one, which was denied 7/25/25, so therefore not included in the Sweet case. Trying to figure out how to submit for reconsideration (Appeal only exists via court) and how to do that. (Not sure what I need to add for it to be reconsidered) I am developmentally disabled (Brain injury in 1978) and not sure why it was denied. Other than current administration being cruel.
The 2nd was denied almost immediately when it was originally submitted and I don’t know how to dispute that, since I have never made enough (and will never make enough) to pay it off. Both schools should’ve required me to do an intake exam to find out if I was too developmentally disabled (math is permanently stuck at 8th grade level) or not.
1st school was Columbia College of Business (been defunct for decades), 2nd was Western International University (Univ of Phoenix). Currently owe about 50-55K due to capitalized interest.
