Do you know who is sending these?

Do you know what loan they are in reference to?

Nope. Number is registered in Delaware and when I call it just rings endlessly. Currently striking against Sallie Mae. It could just be the usual spam, y’know?

It could be spam.

I’m not sure, but it could also be a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. But I’m not sure about that. I guess it depends on whether or not you ever gave consent to be contacted by text in the past.

If they are going to start garnishing your wages, they need to send you a formal notice. Your employer should also be giving you a notice. Once you get a notification like that, you have 30 days to dispute the garnishment and you absolutely should dispute it. It might not work but it won’t hurt.
