Debt Collective members represented in lawsuit against the DOE

Last month attorneys at Harvard’s Project on Predatory Student Lending filed a lawsuit against the Department of Education for the ongoing harm caused by the long delay in processing borrower defense to repayment claims.

Nearly 160,000 students have filed a defense to repayment and have been waiting for their claims to be processed and their debts to be cancelled. Today nearly 900 students submitted written testimony in this case explaining how this delay is directly harming them.
