My understanding is that the law requires full cancellation in the event that they find your school violated the law. But they are going to try to get away with just a partial discharge.
Just recently a new lawsuit was filed specifically about this issue. NOTE, there is nothing you need to do to “join” this lawsuit. My understanding is that if you received a partial discharge you are already covered by the result of this case, whatever that result ends up being. This will take time, likely a year or two. But the hope is that the courts will force at least some of these partial discharges to become full discharges.

Come all, come now, the heat is on and we are going after the department of ed and all of it’s support systems that benefit by keeping us mired in their infinite web of deception. Some of us our too old to continue waiting for the system to be reasonable and receptive to our demand for relief from these predators. They aren’t going willingly along are they? These BD applications are the first step in a series of actions meant to spotlight the systemic mechanisms and specific people that block progress on full student debt cancellation and continue to ensnare our youth in the student loan scheme. Many of us feel that the options available for challenging the validity our our debt are futile and insulting. This steals away our time and energy! We cannot stand for this! We are ready to go beyond this facade of bureaucracy. But where?
There has not even been a post to this thread in a whole year! This is how useless people feel the BD application really is. A world of debtors and no one is bites this feed??? The legal system and its courts, appeals process and big talk on justice has failed to provide support to the citizens it claims to protect. The academics already did the research and wrote the reports. Overwhelming evidence and no one is interested? The professionals are all earning as long as the subject stays stalled out while The People are still hiding out living as economic fugitives! Where are our precious democratic processes? Representation? Hello? Can’t call it a Union unless there’s unity. Just sayin’…
