Hello Everyone,
My name is Dawn and I have student loan debt that ballooned over 23 years from $50K to currently over $100K and counting. Having been chronically under-employed (I have a Master’s Degree) over the years in non-profit organizations, I have been unable to keep up with my payments.
I feel a sense of shame that I can’t repay my debt. The education I received in exchange was supposed to afford me the opportunity to repay but I just am not able to. I left the job market in 2018 due to burnout (I’m a ND LGBTQIA+ Black woman)
This is my story in a nutshell. I’m glad I discovered the Debt Collective because it gives me a sense that together we really can create a fair and equitable society.
