Here is the press release from the Dept of Ed today about more student loans President Biden forgave today

I think this means that all people with disability loans who are in the monitoring period will have their students loans discharged now rather than when their 3 years are up. I sure hope so as otherwise I’ll have to pay federal (and in my state) state taxes on $98K of student loans in 2026 (I borrowed 92k, paid back 102k and still owe 98k). Anyone have an opinion on that reading the press release?

Well it did when I posted it. I have no idea what the dept of ed did with it. I googled it on their website and it is gone.

Here is the white house press release version. Has less info than the dept of ed site had.

I am sure it was taken down by the Trump administration, not to mention he is undoing all sorts of things.
